This has been a very busy last 2 months! I have spent the last several weeks traveling around visiting with many of you to share updates of how God is continuing to work through our efforts across Central & South America. Last week, I returned from visiting our TPI Staff in Cuba, and I cannot tell you how encouraged I am having spent time with our brothers in Christ. Hundreds of pastors are being trained, mobilized, and reaping a harvest for God’s kingdom in that country. Praise God! I am excited to share more about my trip in next month’s newsletter.

Isaiah 43:19 says “Behold, I am doing a new thing!” For this month, I am excited to share with you that God is doing a new thing. The Lord has led my wife, Cheryl, and other Board Members’ wives to begin a new organization that will focus on ministering to the wives of pastors and church leaders in Central & South America. Cheryl led a team of 5 women to Honduras and Nicaragua to host their first training sessions and it was a great blessing to hear of their excitement for the response from the women who attended.

To be clear, this is not a new dimension or extension of TPI; this a new organization that can compliment and collaborate with our efforts as we both respond to God’s calling to follow Him in obedience. We recognize and affirm God’s call for these ladies to meet this need in the lives of pastors wives, and we ask for your prayers as they identify what the next steps will be in these early days of formation.

As always, I encourage you to share this newsletter with your friends and family using the icons at the bottom of this email. We believe God’s work among us is too good not to share with others so we invite you to pass this information on to other believers that might be encouraged to hear how God is using our ministry to advance His kingdom around the world.

Thank you for helping us as we equip national pastors to accomplish The Great Commission!

A New Thing

Isaiah 43:19 says, “Behold, I am doing a new thing!” The seed to begin training women was planted in my heart many years ago when TPI was just beginning it’s ministry. About 4 years ago, the TPI Board had a retreat in Madison, MS and the wives were all in attendance as well as several wives of our international staff. Greg set aside time for me, the board wives, and these two ladies to get together to talk about whatever needs were present in the field. The one thing that kept coming up in our conversations was the need to train the wives of pastors. Ever since that day and those conversations, I knew we would need to hold a conference to see if there really was a need.

On March 18-25 of this year, we held our first conference in Oropoli, Honduras where 27 women joined us and then traveled to Estelli, Nicaragua to hold our second conference where another 17 women were waiting for us. Many of these women traveled for hours by bus from surrounding villages to attend. The response and testimony from these women brought us to tears as they expressed their heartfelt gratitude for our team coming to provide training for how they can best help their pastors and serve in Christ’s church. The response was confirmation from the Lord that this work is something

Our organization, which we are calling Training Women International, will be focusing our efforts on training women to take a support role in their church and to work with the youth and children of the church. Thank you for supporting TPI, and praying for us as we formalize our ministry effort to provide training to women who are eager to help their pastors and churches raise up the next generation to love the Lord and bring Him glory!
