We use curriculum written by Dennis Mock, founder of the Bible Training Centre for Pastors (BTCP), whose mission is to extend non-formal theological training to the world’s untrained pastors and church leaders.
BTCP training uses a biblical, systematic, portable and comprehensive approach to providing the foundational equivalent of a good Bible college or seminary education. This training consists of over 500 hours of interactive classroom lecture and discussion under the supervision of a qualified teacher.
Here is a summary of the 10 topics in the course:
Bible Study Methods and Rules of Interpretation
Old Testament Survey
New Testament Survey
Preaching Biblical Messages and Pastoral Ministry
Bible Doctrine Survey
Personal Spiritual Life
Teaching Principles and Methods
Church History Survey
We have expanded the 10th course into 3 individual parts, each requiring a week to present, hence a 12-week program. We teach 1 week every 3-4 months, allowing the men to absorb the material and not take a large amount of time away from their other tasks. It generally takes 3-4 years to complete the program in this method.
Although the bulk of our classes are taught by nationals we have already trained, our Pioneer Evangelism course can easily be taught by lay people from local churches in the USA. In a short 2-day course over a weekend, we can train you to teach the course in a country of your choice; we will even provide the translators!
Please contact us to learn more about traveling with TPI to train a class with one of our TPI Country Coordinators.
